On a cold and overcast January morning I was in Yellowstone National Park. I decided to go to one of my favorite spots in the park. The spot seemed to be a well used route for wildlife. After hanging out for a while, I noticed that there was movement in the trees. Out came a group of bison. It was one of those lucky moments where everything lined up. The lighting, the critters, and the moment. When I looked back at the picture, it reminded me of how armies travel. “Buffalo Soldiers” reminds me of this and often makes me feel very grateful for having bison. As a nation, we came close to losing buffalo in the wild and having them going extinct. This reminds me of their last stand and how Yellowstone National Park ensures the bison’s survival.
